There are a number of squads at MWKC which cater to any level of paddler. Some are open to all and others are dependent upon your ability.
Set out below is a list of the Squads run at MWKC. Please note, not all attract a coaching fee, as some are provided for the benefit of members. However, with the advent of our new coaching structure some will attract a fee from July 2021
- Tuesday morning Sprint training – Subject to Coaching Fee (and performance criteria)
- Tuesday afternoon 4.20pm Senior Sprint Squad – Available to Club Members only and subject to perf. criteria
- Tuesday afternoon 4.30pm Squad – NO FEE
- Wednesday afternoon Junior squad – Subject to Coaching Fee (and performance criteria)
- Thursday morning Sprint training – Subject to Coaching Fee (and performance criteria)
- Tuesday afternoon 4.20pm Senior Sprint Squad – Available to Club Members only and subject to perf. criteria
- Thursday afternoon 4.30pm Squad – NO FEE
- Saturday morning 5.30am Marathon Squad – (performance criteria applies)NO FEE

For those undertaking regular coaching sessions, our Training Year has 4 Terms aligned with the Financial Year
- Term 1 – July – September
- Term 2 – October – December
- Term 3 – January – March
- Term 4 – April – June
If you are using club equipment, there is a $100/Term fee payable for the use of Club Boats, unless you are within the grace period extended to Juniors and new Members – for more details on this, see the “Club Boat Usage Policy” further down this page.
From 01 July 2021 a new Coaching Fee Structure will come into effect;
- If using your own boat and paddle an annual fee of $150 for individuals or $260 for Families
- If using a CLUB BOAT you will still need to pay the Coaching Fee listed above, but you will additionally need to pay $100/term to use a Club Boat
[+Special Note: Tue/Thur afternoon 4.30pm and Saturday morning adult 7.30am Squads exempt – if you only attend these squads, there is NO Coaching Fee payable.
